29 1/2 weeks and Counting

We have had a very busy week and a half.  We were given the good news that we passed the glucose test with flying colors.  All I can say is Thank Goodness!!  I do not want to do that again for awhile.  We attended our first Preparation for Childbirth Class.  It was very interesting.  We learned some breathing and relaxation techniques as well as some medical terminology.  We are in a class with 11 other couples so it is actually a lot of fun.
Last Sunday, December 4th we lost Ricky's Grandfather, Richard Butler.  He will be greatly missed.  We have so many stories to share with our little one when he arrives about Grandaddy Butler.  He truly enjoyed life and enjoyed spending time with others sharing memories.  He had the best chuckle that makes me smile every time I think about it.
Thankfully, our instructor for our class agreed to meet with us early for our second session.  We learned even more techniques to use as well as some things to expect before going to the hospital and after we arrive.  We are so thankful that they have been willing to work with our crazy schedule so Ricky will hopefully be able to attend most of the sessions.
We have also managed to get the Christmas Tree assembled, decorated and all of the presents wrapped.  I am very thankful this is done and now I can relax and enjoy all of the Christmas movies on Hallmark.  Ricky worked really hard to decorate the tree and to help wrap all of the presents.  I am so thankful that he is home to help.  The belly and Gabriel make it hard to sit in the floor for gift wrapping.  Gabriel has enjoyed sneaking around the corner and attempting to unwrap many presents.  He is going to keep me on my toes.
All in all, we have been busy but it is time that we have had together.

Registry Complete!!

We are so excited to have our baby registry complete.  We have been working on it for the last several months.  It has been a task for Ricky and I, especially with his crazy schedule (a.k.a. he is always deployed for work).  We have made a lot of trips to Babies R Us and spent a lot of time on their website.  It is exciting to know that we are done.  Please feel free to check it out and let us know if we have left anything off that we should really consider.  Thankfully, some wonderful friends and family members have given us some pretty awesome items that we did not have to include on the list.  Thank you to everyone who has been so generous and as excited as we are about our pending new addition.

I also completed the 3hr. glucose test today.  I must say it was not horrible but worse than the first one.  I am not sure what is worse, the nasty stuff they make you drink or waiting around for 3hrs. to be used as a pin cushion by a few nurses who were not happy to be at work today.  Thankfully, the results of the 3hr. test are what the doctors will keep.  YEAH for Me!!!!  We should find out the results in a few days.

Ricky will get to come home for the weekend!  This is his one free weekend for the month.  We are so excited because our first prenatal class is this Thursday night.  He will actually be able to attend it with me and meet everyone in our class, especially the instructor.  This may be his only class that he gets to attend so we are hoping to get a lot of information.  Ricky will be in Calgary, Canada working during the majority of our classes.  Hopefully, I remember everything they tell me so I can relay the information properly.  If not, delivery day could be very interesting.

28 Weeks and Counting!!

Today has been a wonderful day.  It started with my doctor's appointment.  I got to meet Dr. Arnold.  He was very attentive, friendly and helpful.  He said that little man is measuring right on target.  Dr. Arnold also said that our boy will have approximately 4-5 more weeks of his very own romper room before he begins to run out of space and will start to settle in.  He will still be moving and changing positions, it will just not be as easy for him to move my entire stomach while doing it.  I will be very sad he is not kicking, punching and flipping like a wild man but it will also be awesome to know that we will be getting closer to meeting him.  His heartbeat measured at 160.  Way to go Little Man, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!!!!

I recieved a text message from our friend this morning that our maternity pictures were ready.  We are both so happy with how they have turned out!  Robin did a beautiful job of capturing a very special time for us.  Ricky and I have both spent the day just looking at the pictures trying to decide which ones are our favorites.  I think it is going to be an impossible choice.  I have included a couple for you all to enjoy.  Let us know what you think!

REALLY!?!

Little man is doing really well.  He is definately doing a lot of moving!!!  It is awesome to have this experience and we are so very thankful that God has provided us this opportunity.
I took my first glucose test this week.  It was not horrible but it was not great either.  I was really hoping I would not have to take the 3hr. version.  It seems that I was off by 10 points and will be enduring the 3hr. test next week.  I am so bummed!  I worked really hard to avoid sweets and anything with sugar for 24hrs. before having the test and my results still were not enough to pass.  Oh well!  At least the next test will not be completed until after Thanksgiving.  Look out pumpkin pie here I come!!!
I will see the doctor's again on Monday and meet another one of the doctor's in the practice.  I am really looking forward to hearing little man's heartbeat.  These heartbeat appointments are so very special and I am thankful for every single one.  What can I say, Ricky and I are on Cloud 9 and loving it all!!!!

Ending the 2nd Trimester, a Glucose Test and Thanksgiving!

My glucose test is scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving.  Thank goodness it will be before the Holiday meal!  I am really looking forward to all things sweet.  I have talked with many women about their different experiences and I must say, I am not looking forward to being tested.  I am also bummed that Ricky will be in NJ for Thanksgiving.  Hopefully, we will have Christmas together!?!
Little man is doing really well.  We may have a soccer player in the making.  He has been moving all over the place and really getting in some good practice kicks.  Please do not mistake this as complaining!  I am REALLY enjoying all of the little experiences.
My belly is changing shape and really starting to look more and more like a little pregnancy belly.  I am starting to learn creative ways to get my shoes on and find shirts that are long enough or that stretch enough.  It is not as easy as it used to be.  I am really looking forward to my doctor's appointment in a few weeks to hear his heartbeat again and meet another one of the doctors in the practice.
26 Weeks

Before Ricky left for work, he found a pair of boots for the baby that look like his work boots.  We were both very excited.  Now if they made a State Farm Catastrophe shirt in infant size, little man would be all set.
Way Too Cute!!!

One Busy Week!

We have had a very busy week.  It has been a lot of fun getting everything accomplished.  We started the week with our doctor's appointment to hear the baby's heartbeat and meet one of the other doctor's in the office we go to.  The baby is doing really well and measuring right where he should be.  His heartbeat was in the 150s.  Way to go little man!!!  We ordered his bedset for the crib and it came in.  It is awesome and looks so good in his room.  We found a dresser for his closet and Ricky put it together.  It is going to work out really well.  We ordered a new camcorder to help us capture all of the baby's coo's, babbles and cute things that new parents just can't resist.  Today, we had our first photo shoot for the pregnancy!  It was amazing and a lot of fun.  Thanks to Robin, we had a blast and got some really cool pictures!!!  It has been a busy week but it has been awesome being able to share the moments with Ricky!!!

We are seeing Blue!

We are so excited!  We had our 22 week ultra-sound today and found out we are expecting a baby boy!!  Ricky and I feel so very blessed!  As you can see our little man is already a prayer warrior!!  So far he has decided that he really likes church.  As soon as the music stops and Pastor Greg starts preaching, he starts moving all around.  We found it very fitting that this was his favorite position.  It will be so exciting to meet this little one when he arrives.

Praise GOD for Our Wonderful News!!!

The picture was taken at 15 weeks while on vacation.

20 weeks and counting!!!  On June 19 (Father's Day), God blessed us with a positive pregnancy test.  So many dreams for Ricky and I are coming true!!  So far, I have not had any morning sickness which is a huge blessing.  We have had the opportunity to enjoy the sound of our baby's heartbeat (154 at two previous visits and last week we were 145) and to see our little one via ultrasound.  Last week, I started to feel the baby move for the very first time.  It has been amazing!  The doctor says our little one is growing and right on schedule!!  Our estimated due date is February 21st.  I am enjoying pregnancy so much.  In one week we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl.  It is going to be a very long week!!!
